Marlon Dane

I'd like to introduce you to San Diego based singer, song writer, producer, Marlon Dane. Marlon as been gathering a lot of attention with his hard work and release of his debut album "Only One Man Can." Influenced by artists Usher and Justin Timberlake, "Only One Man Can" has been getting airplay on radio stations such as Jammin Z90 and 93.3 as well as station across the ocean in Japan.

Dane’s album of catchy tunes and powerful ballads caught the attention of the University of Missouri, who brought him out to perform for their annual event. He also caught the ear of 7-time world boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, who’s team requested that Marlon Dane sing the introduction song during Manny Pacquiao’s entrance during a Charity event.

You can purchase "Only One Man Can" on Itunes, CD Baby and Amazon.

In his own words. . .

Where do you get your inspiration for your music and doing what you do?

"I get inspiration anywhere and everywhere I can. Usually through personal experience or maybe through something a friend or a family member is going through. Everywhere I go, I constantly think of different song ideas. So if I was in a club having a good time with my boys, I would stop and think about the moment and kind of envision it in a song. Or lets say in that same night, in the same club, I see a beautiful girl that I just can't keep my eyes of off, I would write about that. I spend a lot of time in my studio writing music so that allows me to sit back and think of past experiences to turn into song ideas. Also, of course the way music makes me feel and the way my fans make me feel, which is a great feeling, contributes to my drive and inspiration to what I do.

Where do you get your style from?

"I get my style from all sorts of musical backgrounds. If I gave you the opportunity to take a look at my iPod playlist, you'd see everything on there from RnB, Hip Hop, Rap, Pop, Country, Folk, Soundtrack, Rock, Punk, Alternative and the list goes on. If I ever get the chance, I would love to create an album of original containing all of those genres. I don't like to limit myself and I always try to keep an open mind when it comes to music. I listen to and love it all!"
